About Us

REFEO is a registered charity that exists to support refugees’ successful resettlement and integration within British society through access to higher education and employment.

REFEO strives to fill the gaps in services to which refugees can access if they want to pursue their studies in UK universities or find suitable jobs.

IT ALL STARTED WHEN...

In 2017, our Founder Mariam Diakite took part in the Manchester Marathon to raise funds to galvanise a public appeal to support refugees living in the UK who want to study and work. After a successful crowdfunding campaign, REFEO was born. We have so far invested this funding in further fundraising efforts and supported clients who are taking online courses that are aligned with their professional plans.

THE STORY BEHIND OUR LOGO

Equality is at the heart of what we do as an organisation. The idea that everyone, regardless of their background, should have equal access to employment opportunities and education lies in the equal sign. The circles inside the equal sign represent the diverse array of people our organisation serves and reinforce the value that all people have the equal right to education and employment. Our logo was developed by Graphical House
